The Elbe-Obst Producer Organization r.V. is certified according to the criteria of the International Food Standard (IFS). The certificate does not apply to the producer companies, but to the locations where the goods are packaged from Elbe-Obst. The German food retailing has developed this standard in 2002. The objectives of the IFS is creating a basis for assessing all producers of private brands, the uniform formulation and implementation of audits, the mutual recognition of audits and a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain. The IFS defines requirements for the content and procedures. It evaluates the audits and creates a profile of the certification bodies and auditors. The specification includes the quality management system, the responsibility of the management, the resource management, the manufacturing process as well as the associated measurements and analysis.

Since 2004, the Elbe-Obst Erzeugerorganisation r.V has been certified according to the criteria of the IFS (International Featured Standards). This standard refers to food processing companies that, for example, pack loose goods. Elbe-Obst Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH is certified according to IFS Broker. This standard certifies companies that primarily trade and do not necessarily come into contact with the product. IFS Broker was founded in 2009 according to the IFS. The main objective of the certification is supplier testing. Among other things, this includes which quality requirements they have implemented and if they are able to meet the current legal requirements such as traceability.
