Sour
The Golden Delicious is a random seedling. It was discovered around 1890 in the USA. It has been grown worldwide since 1914. This apple is characterized by a medium-sized to large fruit with a mostly raised, medium-bellied shape. It can be recognized by its yellow to golden-yellow opaque color, which sometimes shows a reddish-golden hint. The Golden Delicious is an apple with green-yellow to cream-colored, firm and very juicy flesh. Depending on the color and time of harvest, it tastes sweet-aromatic and fine-sour to watery.
