The pear called the Delicious of Charneux was discovered around 1800 in Belgium – as a random seedling. It is cultivated all over Europe and also in the Alte Land. The medium to large fruit is easy to recognize: It is conical, has a yellow-green opaque color with a reddish tinge.

The smooth dry skin shows many lenticels. Its yellow-white flesh is very juicy and melting. It is a pear for sugar lovers, because it convinces with a predominantly sweet, aromatic taste and weak acidity.
